The world needs inclusive leaders. Our mission is to help develop them.

Our Team

The Inclusive Leadership Compass team is powered by experts in DE&I, as well as leadership assessment and development, and supported by our global network of highly experienced associates.

Bernadette’s work on diversity and inclusion, and inclusive leadership more specifically, has been recognized globally. Prior to co-founding the Inclusive Leadership Compass with Dr Sandy Caspi Sable, she worked at Deloitte for almost 15 years where she was a director in the Human Capital consulting practice, specializing in diversity, inclusion, and culture more broadly.

Notably, Bernadette co-created the widely referenced Six Signature Traits of Inclusive Leadership framework and associated 360 assessment tool – providing one of the first globally validated measures of inclusive leadership – and co-authored several publications during her time including:

Bernadette’s work on inclusive leadership has been recognized by the Australian Psychological Society (Winner, Workplace Excellence Award) and The Apollo Project in partnership with the UK Financial Times (Winner, Architects of Meritocracy award in the Organization category) and has been featured in the Harvard Business Review and the Wall Street Journal among others. She is a contributing co-author to the book by Ferdman, Prime and Riggio, “Inclusive Leadership: Transforming Diverse Lives, Workplaces, and Societies”, (2020), Routledge / Taylor & Francis with Dr Sandy Caspi Sable.

Bernadette has lived and worked in both Australia and London, UK.  Her motivation stems from an unwavering belief in the power of diversity and inclusion and the possibility that she can help make the world a better place.

Together with Bernadette Dillon, Sandy built the Inclusive Leadership Compass, and for close to 15 years has worked with market leading, global organizations to help them progress their diversity and inclusion ambitions.

Sandy is a recognized expert in the field and sought after public speaker on DE&I. Her particular expertise lies in assisting organizations to build Inclusive Leadership capability at all levels. Most recently, Sandy and Bernadette’s thought leadership featured in Inclusive Leadership: Transforming Diverse Lives, Workplaces, and Societies, Ferdman, Prime & Riggio, 2021 Routledge.

Sandy was a founding leader in Deloitte Australia’s Diversity and Inclusion consulting practice, and in addition to consulting to the firm’s clients around DE&I, she played a key role in advancing the partnership’s own inclusive leadership capability. Sandy was a member of the original working group for the Melbourne Business School’s Gender Equity Project, and has been engaged as an advisor around gender inclusive practices by leaders across the world.

Sandy’s first professional incarnation was as a commercial lawyer and mediator, but her practice as a management consultant and executive coach has consumed the last two decades of her career. She is wildly optimistic about the powers of leaders to influence change within and beyond their organizations, and is grateful to be able to work in this space.
